Fluid Sealing Association (FSA)

The Fluid Sealing Association (FSA) is an international trade association for companies that make and market fluid sealing and containment products used across industrial markets—things like gaskets, compression packing, mechanical seals, and expansion joints. It was founded in 1933 and is heavily concentrated in North America, while also including members in other regions.

In practical terms, FSA’s role is to be a central technical and educational voice for the sealing industry—helping improve reliability and safety by publishing guidance, supporting standards work, and providing training resources. FSA’s membership materials describe its mission as being a primary source of technical information, supporting the development of related standards, and providing education in fluid sealing.

Where you’ll “feel” FSA in day-to-day industrial work is through its technical publications and best-practice documents, often produced by member-company experts and sometimes jointly with the European Sealing Association (ESA)—for example, handbooks and installation procedures aimed at getting bolted joints, packing, and seals to perform reliably.
