Trivalent Chromate
A chemical treatment applied to zinc-plated fasteners after electroplating. During the treatment, the fastener is immersed in a trivalent chromate solution, which chemically reacts with the surface of the zinc to improve corrosion resistance while producing the finish's final appearance. Different trivalent chromate solutions are used to produce Zinc Clear Trivalent, Zinc Black Trivalent, Zinc Yellow Trivalent, and Zinc Olive Drab Trivalent finishes.
