The Serrated Flange Hex Nut, or the Whiz-Lock Nut, is the Serrated Flange Hex Bolts brother. Serrated Flange Hex Nuts are all-metal, free-spinning nuts with a built-in serrated washer. The serrations are case hardened and act as locking teeth while distributing the clamping load over a large area. As the bolt is tightened, the teeth grab into the material it’s being fastened to preventing loosening in vibrating applications (such as truck frames). Earnest offers the nuts in inch sizes in strength levels of 120M (for Grade 5 applications) and in Grade 8.
