December Distribution Performance Report

Embracing Change

At Earnest Machine, we embrace change. We not only welcome it, but we seek it out. If you have been following our distribution performance metrics over the past few months, it was easy to see we needed to do exactly that. Embrace some change. Hug the cactus on many occasions and improve our distribution performance.

In July of 2020, we identified key areas where the company was underperforming and made the necessary corrections in our day-to-day operations and process. Doing so allowed us to discover a number of opportunities for improvement and to increase our performance as a company while we pushed our metrics back towards our goals. From this evaluation, we uncovered the need to invest in our packing operations, allowing us to expand our capacity and reduce our lead time. We worked closely with our suppliers to improve their performance, which in turn helped us improve our on-time delivery. And we also expanded our team, which allowed us to tackle a significant increase in order volume.

In November and now December, we have seen a steady improvement in our distribution performance metrics. Our hard work is paying off.

Though there is still much work to be done, we are encouraged by our results and are more focused than ever to help our distributor partners win by delivering the right part, in the right quantity, on-time, every time.
